Archaeological artifacts are evidence of “traces” left by human activity.
Today, they allow us to write the oldest part of the history of our land. These “archives from the ground” were first collected in the 19th century by “antiquarians” from learned societies during various urban planning phases and, more recently, they were added to by excavations lead by archaeologists from the Regional Archaeological Service and the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research.
