Coins make up the largest part of the numismatics collections of the Dobrée museum.
The core of the collection mainly contains coins minted for the Dukes of Brittany and by the Royal Mint of Nantes, but the collection also holds coins from all over and of any time period, from Greek antiquity to the present.
The Dobrée museum holds the largest coin collection of the Dukes of Brittany – over 3,000 – as well as the richest – some coins are particularly rare.
The collection also presents some other particularly remarkable coins from antiquity – particularly ancient Rome – as well as from Asia and the Americas.
