Database: Chinese collections
This database presents the richness and variety of the Chinese collections of the Dobrée museum, including ceramics, heraldry, graphic arts, numismatics etc.
This collection exists thanks to a number of private collections, the first of which was put together by the ‘Fils de France’ – the first ship to re-establish trade between France and China after the Revolution. It left Nantes in 1818 and was equipped and exploited by Thomas Dobrée.
